Hi M,

nativity_small

Yep … we have snow! You? A little more here than we’d like. On second thought … can you really have too much snow?

With the weather being a little bit of a challenge, had mostly a “stay inside” day. A couple (two) indoor projects. Yep … that means working on one for you. (Happy day!)

Today is day #14! (A number a little more than all of your fingers. The good news one more than all your fingers until Christmas!)

You will not understand this now … but one day. My thoughts turned today toward on old TV spot. “The Night the Light Was Out at the Bethlehem Motel 6.”

Joseph and Mary had traveled a way. Sometimes while traveling it is best to stay at a motel. (Stayed in a few.) We read some “not so good” news. The voice one the other side of the door said, “No room tonight.” Out of room at the inn. (One day you may think that was funny.)

Before my “grandpa” time. Traveled a bit. (OK a lot.) Had a lot of different “cars” and “seats.” (Trains, planes, automobiles. Restaurants. Hotels. Border to border, coast to coast. Sometimes just didn’t know about a college event, a competition, a convention. No rooms for miles and miles. Try to check in late at night. Check out a few hours later. “No room” is not what you wanted to hear.)

Right around now is when we start telling stories about when you were born. We also tell stories about when Jesus was born. Just a few days after we celebrate His, we celebrate yours.

Stuff was written down about His arrival. (Yours are in pictures.) “She gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in cloths, and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for Him in the inn.”

Not so good news about where He was born, but BIG news, great news about Him being born.

The other day it was mentioned the music is fun this time of year. One Christmas song this time of the year is, “Joy to the world. The Lord has come. Let every heart prepare Him room.” May every barnyard, heart, and motel prepare Him room.

Love you little one,

gc
