Que’ pasa Doc?

How about that wind today? No, you can’t see wind, but you can feel it. It will be kite weather soon. (Wait until you see those!) Hope your day has gone well. Any new discoveries today? Anything you can’t do that you may be able tomorrow with a little practice?

We have not talked about festive days in a while. A big one, very big one is coming. Coming in just a few Sundays. Your grand padre likes to write, so … a special project is in the works … it tells a tale about this special day.

“I Love You” Day

Image

We have a fun time this day each year. “I Love You” is what you’ll hear.

From the time you get out of bed, you’ll see the color red.

Hearts and flowers will also be all around.

It is a “miles of smiles” day!

Image

What a treat, candy and cupcakes to eat.

There will be kisses and best wishes from family and friends.

Image

One big red heart and a whispered “I Love You” is a great place to start.

Image

Two hearts means your heart and mine are close for all time.

Image

Just so you know, three hearts mean our feelings of love for you will grow.

Image

Four hearts …four kisses … no misses.

Image

Five big hearts, may it always be true, all the best and much love to you!

(My hobby for 2014 is board/block books for kids ages 0-3. These first books are often just a few pages in length. A few words and pictures or illustrations (attached)on each page. These books are helps to teach our kids or grandkids. They help them learn and move to the front of the line in their “before school years.”)

A Game

We love to clap and smile. This is a clapping and smiling day.

Games are great. Tag! Tic, Tac, Toe! How Big? What Kind of Ball?

Games are for all. Young. Old. Small. Tall.

Some are “you and me” games. Some are “for a few” games.

Image

For some games people wear green clothes.

Image

Others wear orange clothes.

For some games you sit down.

For some you run with a ball,

Down the hall,

To the other side of the room, to the other side of the yard. (To the other side of a field.)

When you get to the spot,

When you put both hands in the air,

We clap and smile!

That Much

Image

Each house has rooms. Down the hall in your house are your walls. The place where you sleep. Your room!

Image

We do these things at night when you go to bed and these words are said.

First we ask, “How much do we love you?” Then we touch a wall and then another. “That much!” From here to there. Wall to wall love. “How much do we love you?” Jumping to touch the roof up there and reaching to touch the rug down there. “That much!” Roof to rug love. “How much do we love you?” Knocking on the door and walking over and to tap the window. “That much!” Door to widow love.

Image

“How much do we love you?” Putting pillows under your head, pulling covers close to you, placing stuffed animals by your side, and a prayer whispered in your ear. “That much!” Putting, pulling, placing and praying love.

With a smile we switch off the goodnight light!
